The European Commission Initiative "RECITE II"

Meeting in Lecce, April 2000The European Commission Initiative RECITE II is an EU co-financed inter-regional project, funded under Article 10 of the European Regional Development Fund, and constitutes a continuity of the previous RECITE I project. The project aims at increasing the entrepreneurial development of each region by the transfer of know how among the partners, and by the set up of interregional collaboration among the participating regions. It worth to be mentioned that generally 5 up to 7 partners by different regions of Europe are participated in each project. The specific project started at 1997 and will last approximatelly until the end of 2001.

 

The FINESTRA Project

Meeting in Lecce, April 2000The FINESTRA project is one of the 53 approved projects which were selected through the launch of RECITE II program. The total approved budget by the E.C. of the project is 3.38 million Euro, (ERDF contribution: 2.27 million euro) and the amount of the Greek participation is 280.000 Euro.The "partner regions" of the FINESTRA project are the following seven (7):

  1. Lecce (Italy),
  2. Umbria (Italy),
  3. Bastia (Corsica),
  4. Santiago (Spain),
  5. Epirus (Greece),
  6. SouthEast Ireland (Ireland),
  7. Vale do Ave (Portugal).

The project is co-ordinated by an Italian consultancy firm, which specializes in EU projects "Europrogetti & Finanza". The coordinator of the project is Mr. Paolo Motta, assisted by Mrs Colette Renier, Barbara Lomonaco, and Monica Minso: e-mails: recite@epf.it / finestra@epf.it / p.motta@epf.it

The Region of Epirus, as the contractor regional partner, and the BIC of Epirus (Business Innovation Center of Epirus), The University of Ioannina, and the Epirus S.A. as the local partners, represent the Epirus, one of the seven 'partner regions' in the project.The 5 themes, which have chosen for collaborative actions among the partners, are:

4. ECO TOURISM
5. INSTRUMENTS OF FINANCE
